Four Months of Norwegian Epic Cruises Canceled

Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled the Norwegian Epic‘s winter schedule in Europe from December 1, 2023, to April 9, 2024, as part of a fleet redeployment. The company plans to resume its European program in April 2024 with nine ships.

Impacted guests will receive full refunds, and those who paid via Future Cruise Credit (FCC) will have the full amount reapplied to their accounts. As a gesture of goodwill, NCL is offering a 20 percent FCC discount on any European sailings.

This follows the recent cancellation of most of the Norwegian Spirit’s summer program in Alaska due to a full ship charter.

Concerns For Vendors Ahead of Nassau Cruise Port Grand Opening

As the three-day opening celebrations for the new Nassau Cruise Port are set to begin, Yvette Prince, President of the Festival Place Tenants Association, has voiced concerns over cramped working conditions, inadequate setup time, and the requirement to supply only authentic Bahamian goods.

Prince argues that the production of only authentically Bahamian goods could lead to physical health issues for vendors and that the spaces provided are too small. She also raised concerns about the lack of air conditioning in the stores.

The port’s opening ceremonies are due to begin tomorrow.

Woman Injured in Hit-And-Run During Port Stop in Grand Cayman

Look carefully before crossing the road. A woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Grand Cayman this month. Ed Melton and his wife were on a cruise with their family aboard Carnival Glory when the accident occurred on May 18th.

According to Melton, his wife was struck in the hip and thrown in the air from the impact, landing on her elbow and head. Citing worries about getting back to the ship on time, they reported the incident to Carnival security instead of the local police.

Melton’s wife incurred a one thousand dollar medical bill on the ship, with additional costs expected back home in the U.S.
